What Makes Me Weird Meme - #Flashback

Long, long ago in a land far away, people didn't "blog", they "journaled".   It was a close knit community, called J-Land by those who dwelled there, it's official name on the internet map was:

.

For a season, in late 2005 and early 2006, a meme circulated there. It was fun, simple, and helped everyone see we really are not all that different.  The meme was "What Makes Me Weird".  The person tagged lists five things about themselves that others might consider weird, and then tags five others, asking them to do the same.  I want to see this circulate around Blogger and Wordpress! Please be a sport and play along.

Five Weird Things About Me  ๐Ÿ‘€

1.  I prefer to eat my mashed potatoes with a little salt sprinkled on them, no gravy please.  Has to be fresh salt on top, makes no difference how salty they were or weren't on their own.

2.  I can pick up things with my toes and pinch the fire out of you, too!

3.  I have dreamed the answer to problems at work before.

4.  I always sneeze in a sequence of three, one right after the other.

5.  I must have a sheet over my body and  at least some light blanket up to my hips to sleep.

Okay, I admit the list could have been pages long, but I don't want to scare you off.

Now, for whom I am asking to join me in this:

Perhaps soon we'll find out how weird they are!๐Ÿ˜‰
Do you share any weird traits with me?  Do you enjoy doing memes from time to time?

Barbara

  2. I can pick up things with my toes, too. My SIL said something about my brother doing the same thing (I can't recall if it was a complaint or not), so apparently it's a genetic thing. I guess ;)

    Fun meme.

    1. Could be. Daddy used to slip his slippers off to get me when I passed his Lazy-Boy.

  3. My wife can pick up things with her toes.
I'm a bit of a sanitary freak and wash my hands a lot.

    1. Your wife must be a fine woman. My daughter washes her hands more than necessary, but not compulsively. Dirt doesn't bother her, but she has a sensitive nose and can smell any little thing on her hands.

  4. I have to be covered with a sheet to sleep too. If I only had a small cover I would want my shoulders to be covered then feet would be next. Hips uncovered okay.

    1. It's a matter on weight for me. I grew up under ole cotton quilts.

  6. I too need a sheet and something a little weighty on me to sleep. I am sure I have dreamed great ideas and solutions to problems, but can't remember them when I awake no matter how hard I try.

    1. I don't remember very many dreams. Usually I remember a feeling or an overall theme, but not the details. Makes me think the work solutions come from God.

  7. Yep, no matter what the weather, I need at least a sheet and blanket on. Sometimes I'll stick my leg out of the covers.

    1. Oh! If I start to feel too warm, I'll stick a leg out!
And ALWAYS a box fan running.

  8. Yep, I have dreamed solutions to my problems.. which is so weird, yet so wonderful! The brain is amazing, really!
I can spread the toes on my right foot, but not on my left!

    1. Isn't the problem solving dreams near miraculous?! It's like answers falling out of Heaven.

  9. I've stopped doing the memes, but they're always fun.

Weird traits about me: I do most of my writing in the bath; I created a language based on my cat's sounds; no matter how ill I am, I can always eat bacon-flavored chips; I'm hugely phobic of worms and will feel them crawling on me if I see one; and I read all the time, even when crossing the street or cooking.

  10. I need covers over me when I sleep, too.

The last time I participated in a meme like this was around 10 years ago on Facebook. I'll have to think about my answers and hopefully I'll get a post up tomorrow or Thursday :)

  12. I started blogging in 2006 so must have just missed the journalling. But I love the idea of 5 weird things - I think I've blogged something similar before - I'm going to have to go look for it now :) x
