Weekend Coffee Share

Well, hello, there!  Come on in.  The coffee is still hot and fresh, so help yourself.  You know me, I sleep in on Saturdays.  Just poured my second cup and took my meds.

Isn't it beautiful today?!  I can't believe we've finally had a full week of sunshine here in South East Texas.  Pete and the fellows are supposed to be in from their four day camping & fishing adventure.  Pete didn't really feel like going, but thought what the hay, he might as well be miserable with his friends as miserable at the house.

Last night, Hannah Bug and I rented all of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies and had homemade chocolate malts for supper.  We watched one and a-half movies last night. Will finish that one up when she arises.  I love the character Captain Jack Sparrow as portrayed by Depp.  Always leaves people guessing whether he is brilliantly clever and disguises it with imitation insanity OR if he's a bumbling fool who just has uncanny luck.  I believe and vote for the former.

This afternoon, there is a game day for the youth at church.  Pizza, volleyball, horse-shoes, that sort of thing.  Suppose we'll all try to make it over for that.  Nice day for it.

Things at work have calmed down and begun to line out since all of our recent changes to our procedures.  I'm glad that everything transitioned rather smoothly.  Still calls for me to do a few extra steps in some of my data entry.  Eventually, everything will work around until that isn't necessary, but it will take a rather long time.

So, what's up with you?  Have you enjoyed your weather?  Are you a fan of the Pirates of the Caribbean? What about your work, how are things there?

First, let's get another cup of coffee.

  1. The grandkids and I watched the Pirates of the Caribbean movies before we went to Disney World 4 years ago. I had never seen them and was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed them. I first became familiar with Johnny Depp when he played on the TV show 21 Jumpstreet. He is a really good actor.

    1. Yes, I agree. I think Depp is one of, if not the best, character actor of the last 30 years or so. I have not liked every movie I've watched that he has been in, but to me his portrayal in each is spot on, interesting and unique.

  2. Yes it is a beautiful day. No coffee thanks, I wanted john to go with me to the new snow cone store on Main street but he won't get off the couch. I hear they have all kinds of unusual flavors. Enjoy the event at your church.

    1. Oh, I love a good snow cone! Funny, poor Pete, bad as he feels so much of the time will drag his self up to do something one of his man friends asks him to do, but will seldom do the same for me. Guess that is part and parcel of thinking his wife can understand more than others.

  3. Even though I have all the movies on DVD, I've never watched any of them! I guess I should give them a try. Hhm...chocolate malts. I think that might make the movies watchable. I'll have to do something about both the malt and the movies!

    1. Oh, gosh, the malts were so good!! I truly think anyone would really enjoy them. They are not your standard old fashioned pirate movies.

    1. Yep, movie binges are great. Every so often Bug & I pick a series or a theme and let it go. Her Dad will walk through every so often if he is home and say, "Another darn movie?!!" Shake his head and walk off. ;)

  5. Pizza... Hmmm... No, I guess I'm not in the mood. I'm trying to decide what I want for dinner, and nothing sounds good. But I can't keep eating cookies...

    1. Right over there on the kitchen counter. Just be careful out in hot, sticky weather. Try to do things early or late or in the shade. Drink plenty of water.

  9. I try to sleep in on Saturdays but never manage to sleep past 6 AM. I guess that is sleeping in since I usually get up around 5 AM during the week.

    1. I think the first may be my favorite, too. But I like Capt. Jack Sparrow in all of them. I think they all did, though they got a little hot. Think the next time they do something like that they need to start it about two hours later.

  11. I'm late for the coffee, but that's okay and I missed the movie marathon. Can't go wrong with Mr. Depp as Captain Jack. He's a hoot. Sounds like a very fun weekend. I relaxed a lot in the pool - gosh, I love to swim. Then out to read a bit, and dip back in. That's where you'll find me now that the weather has gone summer on us. Work was nuts today........hope mine calms down a bit. Have a great week
