Let 'Em Do Their Thing!

Okay, this proves that they just don't get it!   How can they measure and study prayer when they don't even understand it??!    God is not some genie in a bottle that you rub the right way and get your wish!  There is no "formula" or "equation".  It is a relationship.  A conversation.  A meeting of the minds and the wills.

And they think they can set up a test that will measure God's effectiveness?  Remember the temptation of Christ?  When Satan wanted him to throw himself off the temple top and let the angels run and catch him, Christ said you don't put the Lord God to foolish tests.

Yes, prayer could be proven.  But I don't believe God will allow it.  If He did then there would be no faith required.  The Bible tells us that Salvation comes by faith.  And the salvation of mankind is God's most important mission.  He would not jeopardize it.

As for their doubt and "explanations" of the miracles God performs I feel like the little boy in the joke:  He's on the park bench reading where Moses led the Israelites thru the parted Red Sea.  And he starts praising God and His greatness.  A man on the bench asks him what he's so excited about.  When the boy tells him, the man tells him that science has proven that the water level was probably much lower then, just a few inches and was no real feat for them to walk across.  The boy, quiet, returns to Exodus.  In a few minutes he goes to jumping and hollering and praising God all the more.  The startled man asked, "Why, didn't I just explain to you this was foolishness?"  But the boy said, "Mister, God drowned the whole Egyptian army in just a few inches of water!"

Thank God there are scientists out there that are also Christians.  That can see and accept the hand of God, and admit wedon't know it all and never will in this world.

As for the others, that's okay.  Let 'em do their thing.  One day their knee will bow and their tongue confess.

  1. Barbara can't you just see the patches of ice that Jesus walked on? HA HA. Also the wind blowing all that water back in the Red Sea. Did you do the voting and see the results that most people believe in miracles? Scientest won't ever be able to prove the Bible wrong. I have seen Miracles happen and my prayers answered on the spot. I do not question how it was done because I know who did it.

  4. Hi Barbara!

I read that article too. Prayers do work, sometime the limitation is the "seeing"!  His answer may not be what WE are looking for.  Maybe the answer had to go to someone else before it gets back to you, or maybe the answer you wanted was the wrong answer.  So the answer was no.

The branch I work at the most is my local branch. The one I made such a big deal about wanting to be at permanently! Because it's close and I woudn't be spending so much in gas. Maybe this is MY answer....I'm finding out whether I fit in there.  Time will tell.  Gods answer could be NO.  LOL

    Take care!

  6. BARBARA,
YOU ARE CERTAINLY A SINCERE CHRISTIAN.
IT IS SAD THAT THERE ARE THOSE ' THAT JUST DON'T GET IT' .
              WE HAVE A CHOICE.
SAUL MADE A GOOD CHOICE WHEN HE 'SAW THE LIGHT'.
OCCASIONALLY NOW THERE ARE 'SAULS' THAT ARE SEEING THE LIGHT. EVIL MINDED ONES TURNING TO JESUS. HOPEFULLY THOSE OCCASIONS WILL BE SHOWN MORE IN THE MEDIA SO THEIR RECENT ADMIRERS CAN SEE HOW THE POWER OF 'THE LIGHT' CAN HEAL.
AFTER SAUL BECAME PAUL HE LED MANY TO TURN TO JESUS.
LIVING PROOF OF THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.
WISE ARE THOSE THAT INVITE AND RECEIVE IT.      SAM

  7. I've experienced the spiritual calling a few times. But sadly, lately when I see religion creeping into politics at the speed of light lately I'm surely becoming an agnostic. What it has all boiled down to lately, as I take God's existence as being either way real or unreal, I still find him that one individual I may talk to knowing he ain't going to spill the beans upon me. Can anybody seeing a sickeyeatwist say the same thing? Fernan My home place is at http://journals.aol.com/fmgruber/FernansFarmReport/
