Good day dear Sisters......and any one else! I have another marriage devotion (probably the last) coming along hopefully later today. As I am going thru my mailbox, I am finding amusing and ecouraging things to share with you today. The art above is by ChristArt. The little poem below is from AcraMax.
A Woman's Poem He didn't like the casseroleAnd he didn't like my cake.
My biscuits were too hard...
Not like his mother used to make.
I didn't perk the coffee right
He didn't like the stew,
I didn't mend his socks
The way his mother used to do.
I pondered for an answer
I was looking for a clue.
Then I turned around and smacked him...
Like his Mother used to do.
LOL Please realize this is for humor only! I would not advise doing this.
And now for a word of encouragement from Godswork Ministry:
SHAKE IT OFF A parable is told of a farmer who owned an old mule. The mule fell intothe farmer's well. The farmer heard the mule braying - or whatever mulesdo when they fall into wells. After carefully assessing the situation, the farmer sympathized with themule but decided that neither the mule nor the well was worth the troubleof saving. Instead, he called his neighbors together, told them whathappened, and enlisted them to help haul dirt to bury the old mule in thewell and put him out of his misery. Initially, the old mule was hysterical! But as the farmer and hisneighbors continued shoveling and the dirt hit his back, a thought struckhim. It suddenly dawned on him that every time a shovel load of dirtlanded on his back, he should shake it off and step up! This he did, blow after blow. "Shake it off and step up... shake it offand step up... shake it off and step up!" he repeated to encouragehimself. No matter how painful the blows or distressing the situationseemed, the old mule fought panic and just kept right on shaking it offand stepping up. You're right! It wasn't long before the old mule, battered and exhausted, stepped triumphantly over the wall of that well! What seemed like it wouldbury him actually blessed him - all because of the manner in which hehandled his adversity! Author Unknown
Hope ya'll enjoyed this. I'll leave you with a quick update on family life.
Bubba is on a field trip to a Welding Contest today. I hope some of them win something!
Bug complained of her stomach last night. Asked me to pray for her. Then she just repeated, "Please, Jesus." over and over. She said each time she said it, she felt a little better. In about 30 minutes I heard her switch to "Thank you, Jesus." over and over again. Seems her tummy was feeling all better by then. So proud that she knew enough to give Him thanks for His answer! We must all take note and learn a lesson here, after all we must come as children.
My dear Pete is feeling very lousey lately. He rattled off a whole list of complaints last night! And its' not like him to do that. We had almost gotten into an argument. Seems it was my fault he's been running late to work lately, even though I start trying to wake him about 40 minutes before he ever gets up! But, it actually led to a discussion. A discussion where I shared things with him about my prayers for him and his family that I had never shared.
Emmy still has not had her foal! Guess she really is Perpetually Pregnant!
The baby chicks and the little kittens are all living and thriving. Know anyone who wants a kitten?
My Kate Jesmines are blooming! Oh I just love their smell! Like to put them in the house and let the aroma fill it. I think some folks call them Gardenias. Or maybe the two are just closely related? I'll leave that up to someone else to figure out.
May everyone who comes this way have a joyful day! I know your sweet and thoughtful comments add joy to mine!!!!!
still laughing... so I smacked him like his mother used to do.. lmbo.. dont think that would go over too well if I did that and used it as an exucse.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning, Your journal is precious, and so are you. I'm going to put your link into my "Hey Let's Talk " Journal. hon . You're such a blessing I want to share you with as many women as I can. Hugs. *Barb* http://journals.aol.com/barbpinion/HEYLETSTALK
ReplyDeleteI liked you poem LOL. So it's your fault your hubby sleeps late LOL. How this for comparision. My stepson sets his clock when when he wants to go in to work earlier. The clock goes off waking both him and his wife up. He is so sleepy that he doesn't to get up so he turns off the alarm and then has to work over in the evenings to make up the time. It disturbs his wife for him to wake her up so early.
ReplyDeleteOh! I think the flowers are the same just our parents & grandparents used to call them Kate Jesmine. I love the smell too. I have had two bushes here but each time some disease always attacks & kills them. Did you know that when you pick a flower and the pretty is gone you can just set it outside in a fruit jar in the same water and it will root?
Bless Bug for giving the Lord thanks for answered prayers. Helen
Just found your journal through Barb and am so glad I did. I have put you on alerts. I would love a kitten but I am across the big pond from you so, alas, it is not possible. We lost our cat just a few weeks back at the age of 24. I did laugh at the humourous poem!

ReplyDeleteYou are blessing more than you will ever know and just like your dear loved uncle I am sure you will have many many rewards in heaven waiting for you.
I can understand about the lack of conversation companionship lol I am more internal also and it just seems easier to articulate in my writing then when speaking. That is partly why I love my journal so much and the back and forth we do in J~Land. It is a whole community here, and I bet once more discover what a precious pearl of wisdom you are you will be floored with more friends. : ) I think you should be nominated for Editor's Pick that is for sure.
Much Love,
Mary
