Remember the tea kettle - it is always up to its neck in hot water, yet it still sings!
Rejoice in the Lord always...
Rejoice!
Philippians 4:4 NIV Okay, I swiped that off of my groups message board! Sister Legacy posted it...So give her the credit!
Good, quiet, relaxing Mother's Day. Pete brought me home a coffee mug with some Mary Kay goodies and chocolate inside. The kids accompanied me to Big Church. No real fusses or fights between them all day! It rained and drizzled, so I couldn't pick blackberries and dewberries with Bug. But it made it the perfect day for the pot of soup I cooked to make it easy on myself! Bug gave me a framed picture she had drawn and colored at school. It was sweet! Bubba's part was cleaning out around the flowers and helping Bug plant new ones in the bed in front of the porch. The guys mechaniced on Pete's truck all day, putting in the new clutch. My sister and I exchanged well wishes for the day over the phone.
Then I got to rule the roost and the TV control and watch the first half of the ELVIS movie CBS is airing! Pete even waited for a commercial to ask me to bring him his plate! (Yes he is spoilt-rotten) It brought back great memories of when I was about 7-10 years old. For a while, every night football was on TV, a competitor station would air an Elvis movie. So while that lasted, each night the men in the family would gather at one house and do the football thing, and the women & Children would gather at another house to watch Elvis and make fudge. There was laughter and joy. And I learned a great deal about my older sisters that way, besides getting a healthy dose of respect for the King. So all things Elvis are sacred! lol
To top the evening off perfectly, I signed on to check my e-mail at bedtime and finally caught my dear friend and sister Sherine on-line! She is a wonderful young Christian wife and mother in India, and a joy to talk with. She had received some pictures I had sent her and we hada fun time talking about them and catching up. Somewhere in India folks are getting an eyeful of the hunting club meeting at our deer camp and our old mud hoopies. Sherine is also coaching them in how to talk redneck.
Still no new horsie. Pete is hoping so that she'll have it today on Bubba's birthday!
Gotta run and try to do this housework and shopping "as unto the Lord!"
Glad you had a great day!!!
