One Week Into the A to Z Challenge

I know two things now.

One, I am following more blogs whose themes I loved than I can possibly keep up with.

Two, way too many of you still have the little dancing robot verification turned on in Blogger.

Three....wait, I said two....but it's three.  Three, I'm enjoying myself immensely!

We can all sleep come May.

What are you enjoying the most about the challenge?

What are you finding hardest during the challenge?

  1. I'm loving that I get more visits and comments. But I need to do more of both for other people.

    1. Sunday can be a great catch up day for those things!

  2. If it says "prove you're not a robot" and has the little check box, ignore it. Several of us (myself included) have tried to eradicate that thing and found that even if we don't have Captcha enabled, that little check box won't go away. If you ignore it, your comment will still appear, no problem. At least, I haven't had an issue with my comments appearing when I ignore the box.

Getting through all these blogs is hard. But it's fun to meet new bloggers.

  3. It's been a fun first week, Barbara. I am using today to do some needed catching up on the number of blogs I ought to visit. Glad to see you've been having fun too.

  4. I hate the verification thing. I figure I can go back and delete comments myself, it notifies me when I get them. I hate when I go to comment on someone else's blog and it puts my comment as spam. Makes me not want to comment on their blog anymore. Thanks for visiting me this week!

    1. And it's a shame it makes you feel that way. That's why it is best if everyone makes it as easy as possible to comment.

  5. The worst thing for me is the blogs on Word Press, having to fill in the name, email address, web site if it doesn't automatically populate. That and some blogs on Google Plus I cannot comment on for the life of me (I have tried). I am like you, following way too many blogs, but I did thin out some yesterday with things that had sounded interesting but then weren't too interesting. I think I might be down to a manageable number. I took off Friday from work and spent 4 hours on blogs, LOL, but did visit a lot just in case I can't over the next few days with schedules, etc. Plan to do that for another Friday later this month too :)

    Happy Easter!

    1. I've found that Google plus blogs work best if you are using Google Chrome as your browser. And when you use chrome you only have to type one letter in each slot on Word Press to have it auto suggest to fill in the rest.

  6. I agree with you about the checkmark boxes . And I am finding too many on the list that aren't blogging A to Z at all!

    1. I believe the co-host will be making their first clean-up of the list today or tomorrow. That should help.

  7. Ignore the robot check box and just hit publish - you comment will post.
I was already following way too many interesting blogs, but I am doing my best to keep up.

    1. Yes, Liz pointed out the ignore the check box thing and I've tried it - it works!

  8. A to Z is a hoot. I'm doing my best to check in on others. The hardest part is time. During the week, I come home and I'm sick of the computer. On the weekend, I try to rest from the computer. However April is special - so many folks put forth so much effort. I am inspired (or guilted) to step up. I look forward to your next week.

  9. I'm so enjoying reading all these blogs! The challenge is that I want to read them all and just can't. I'm reading and commenting on as many as I can, though.

  10. This year I have the guilts about not visiting enough blogs -but I'll go into overdrive and all that will change when I get back home after the 12th. The one good thing about that though it is I don't have the usual complaints about how difficult it is to comment on some sites :)

    1. Oh, Ida, Happy Easter to you, too! Don't worry about it dear. You do what you can when you can. And the list will be here. There will even most likely be a post A to Z Road Trip to go back and visit what you miss though out the rest of the year.

  11. I love meeting new people and finding new blogs. It's impossible to keep up with them all, but it's fun trying. I turned off verification completely, but WordPress will still hold a comment back for me if it has more than two links. I'm taking special care to find my A-Zers and set them free!

    1. You do what you can and that's all you can do. Comment moderation is not a problem. And I am leaving three links with each visit. One to here, one to Stephen, my general's blog and one to the A to Z Challenge itself. So, shame on me for making you work harder! LOL

  13. Hi Barbara - that was a great little post. I with you on all three.

No.2 still prevails, which is a sad thing. I won't sign up using other sites just to leave a comment. Having done the homework I know that there are options with all the various sites to make commenting easier. Lord knows I posted about it! LOL

I hope you enjoyed your day of rest… it all gets going again tomorrow. See you around the A-Z.

    1. Rest?! What rest? Well, I did stop long enough to go to worship and then again when my grown kids came over. But rest?! Never in April. ;)

    1. Now that sums up the A to Z like nothing else! LOL And notice, this was an incredibly short post. No real thought involved. Nothing says you have to do it all every single day. All that has to be done is to post. You can take a day off visits if you need to and play catch up on a day with more free time.

  15. I set my A to Z on autopilot... now I'm trying to catch up by returning visits!
