  1. He died the year I was born, but I grew up loving him via my mom's love of him! I think I've seen all his movies (good or bad!) and love listening to him sing! Now if only we had TVLand over here in Germany!!!

  3. Elvis was a Loyal American and Christian.
ELVIS SUCCUMBED TO TEMPTATION AS WE ARE INCLINED TO DO AT TIMES.
I LOVE TO HEAR HIS GOSPEL SONGS.
IT IS SO SAD THAT IN THIS PRESENT DAY MANY PEOPLE AND YOUNG THAT FIND OUT TOO LATE THAT THE 'FIX' THAT INITIALLY SEEMED SO GREAT AND THE DOMINO EFFECT THAT HAS A TRAIL LEADING TO ROCK BOTTOM.
VERY YOUNG TEENAGE GIRLS WILLING TO PLEASE AN OLDER MAN, THINKING WHAT A GREAT GUY, SO GENEROUS TO GIVE ME THOSE 'FEEL GOOD' PILLS,  ENCOURAGES HER TO PLEASE HIS FRIENDS TOO AND FOR A TIME FEELS HONORED WITH THIS ATTENTION , GROOMED TO TELL AUTHORITIES NOTHING.
SO MANY OF THE YOUNG FEEL WISE AND ABLE TO TAKE CARE OF THEIRSELVES, THEN DISCOVER WHAT A PROSTITUTE IS AND THAT WONDERFUL BOYFRIEND IS A PIMP.
ONCE ADDICTED SHE IS A STRANGER TO FAMILY THAT CANNOT CONTROL HER.   NOT SO VALUABLE TO THE PIMP AFTER AQUIRING A VENEREAL DISEASE OR TWO AND POSSIBLY PREGNANT, MAY BECOME ONE OF THE MANY MISSING THAT ARE FOUND AS MURDER VICTIMS.  THE PIMP IS LOOKING FOR FRESH YOUNG ONES  .
SAD, SAD IT IS.  LORD, THY KINGDOM COME AND CORRECT THE EVIL.  sam

  4. I love to hear Elvis sing Gospel songs and have a CD of his, it is so sad that he had such a sad ending, he had a great God given talent and lost all with a terrible addiction, he is still entertaining with reruns and that is good because he is still bringing a lot of pleasure to a lot of people. gg/Jackie

  6. You are so right!  Elvis was a Christian man, to the point of not liking the nickname "The King."  He stopped a concert where some young girls help up a banner that said "You Are The King" and told them kindly, there was only one King, and that was Jesus Christ.  It's unfortunate that his wishes on this are not respected.  I had a lot of respect for him for taking a stand.  How many of us would have done that???

  7. Great entry. I remember that comment of his. He made some mistakes in his life, as we all do, but he deeply resented being put in the Lord's place.

  12. I love Elvis.  In 1915 he came to Oklahoma City where I lived and was sold out before I could get a ticket.  So, I went to where the concert was and I listened to him perform from outside, was awesome.
Just an all American boy who loved his mama and tried to make his way in this world.  He was gorgeous, talented, caring and giving and he just wanted to do this his way. There will never be another Elvis.
