Halloween

Suppose I had a pleasant Halloween.  At work today, our GM, Chad, had a large bowl of assorted candies for everyone to come and trick or treat through.  Our college part-timer came dressed as a sky blue Crayola crayon.

It wasn't very hard for me to get dressed for Halloween.  I wear my "costume" every day.  You see I am one of the most feared creatures in the world today............

......?!?!?!?!?

......How can that be??

......What is she talking about?

Simply put, I was what I am.  A white, middle-aged, American, politically incorrect, college educated, born again, redneck.

Got 'cha!

  6.   BARBARA,
I SUSPECT THAT YOU ARE A PATRIOTIC, BRAVE, RED BLOODED ALL AMERICAN LADY AND A TRUE CHILD OF GOD.
OUR GOOD OLD U.S.A. HAS ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT. HOWEVER, WE WHOM LOVE OUR HOMELAND DO NOT JOIN WITH THE BASHERS THAT ARE DENOUNCING OUR GOVERNMENT.
IN EVIDENCE AT THIS TIME APPROACHING ELECTIONS IN NOVEMBER 2008, NASTY WORDS SPOKEN AGAINST OUR COMMANDER IN CHIEF, WHICH APPEARS AS ANTI-AMERICAN VENOM TO THOSE SUCH AS I, NOT ONLY VETERANS OF RECENT WARS AND THE PRESENT WAR AGAINST TERRORISM, THOSE WORDS ARE MUSIC TO THE EARS OF OUR ENEMIES.
SOME LAWMAKERS IN OFFICE AT THIS TIME ARE RUNNING OFF AT THE MOUTH IN A NARROW MINDED WAY WITH WHAT BENEFIT IN MIND? ARE THESE FEW BASHING LAWMAKERS SO NAIVE AS TO NOT REALIZE THAT THE PUSHERS OF THIS TERROR WAR INTEND TO KILL OFF ALL WHOM ARE CONSIDERED INFIDELS ?
THESE FEW LAWMAKERS ARE GIVING COMFORT TO ENEMIES OF AMERICA.

  10. Hi Barbara- I went as myself too.  Took the boy to a local church family fest.  It was a  lot of fun, and my guy was the only M&M there among all the super heroes and pirates!  I must say though, I think if we go again next year, I might just have to dress up- it looks like so much fun, and I used to love it!  God Bless, and hope you're all doing OK- love Carolyn :)

  11. Thank you so much for your comment in my journal!!!  I really needed to hear that advice.  Please keep me in your prayers.  Happy Halloweeen belated to you too!!!!  Sorry I am behind in alerts.  It's all this house stuff and the visit to Ohio making me reeling.  We need to hang on for three more months and then we can go into an FHA refinance with no minimum score and a decent on time no late pay 12 month pay history on our home.  Hugs,
    Lisa

  13. When I had more time (translated: before I began teaching), I did things like get ready for halloween, dress up to greet the kids at the door, make homemade popcorn balls, and even made illuminaries for our driveway... but this year (which is typical if Halloween falls on a school day) I just rush home after school, decorate our deck and our doorway, hang a few glow sticks from the tree limbs, and fill the candy bowl. I tried to get my husband to dress in black, then hide under our steps... and scare the kids before they started up the stairs to our deck, but he wouldn't have it. Usually he's not home in time for Halloween trick or treaters, so he doesn't get into it ... much... however, I think he does enjoy seeing the kids in their costumes, and tries to figure out who they are! I did myself a favor this year and bought only bubble gum in case we didn't get many kids. We didn't. Only 10 came, a big drop from the 50 we got two years ago. So I now have this big bag of bubble gum (multi-flavors) to use as treats in my classroom. Had they been chocolate candies, I would have eaten them and regretted it by Christmas. One has to think defensively between October and December! Sounds like you had a good Halloween! bea

  14. That's alright Barbara,
I wanted to be an illegal alien for halloween, but there's something uncomfortable to people about an American of mexican descent, who's a conservative, trying to trick or treat as an illegal Canadian... hasta lavista, eh? lol
